چکیده
The article describes the problems, which are of greatest interest for formation fish broodstock, such as process gameto- and gonadogenesis duration spawning cycles in broodstock reared artificial conditions. Under Research Experimental Aquaculture Complex BIOS CaspNIRKH formed paddlefish 63 females matured 2020. There were studied 11 born 2002 2003, whose roe was taken food purposes. following parameters determined: age sexual maturity, interval, body weight, ratio eggs to weight. physiological state upon obtaining assessed by biochemical blood: hemoglobin concentration (Hb) total serum protein (TSP). reproductive function obtained research lower than characteristic their natural habitat, first acclimatizers Krasnodar region. Sexual maturity came quite late - at 14-15, is 1-2 years more conditions intervals turned out be longer female weight about 10%, 1.5 times less that observed American At same time, blood (hemoglobin protein, characterize females) rather high indicated a satisfactory condition fish. preliminary results make it possible recommend farmers enterprise improve work with paying special attention optimizing rearing stages gonad formation.

The mean larval paddlefish density was 60 times higher in the upper unchannelized section of the Missouri River in Nebraska compared to the lower unchannelized section, and was three times higher than the channelized section's density. Within the upper unchannelized section, 96.2% of the larvae were collected in the discharge of two tributaries, which lie in the lower one-third of the reach. Su...
متن کاملPhysical modeling of vortical cross-step flow in the American paddlefish, Polyodon spathula
Vortical cross-step filtration in suspension-feeding fish has been reported recently as a novel mechanism, distinct from other biological and industrial filtration processes. Although crossflow passing over backward-facing steps generates vortices that can suspend, concentrate, and transport particles, the morphological factors affecting this vortical flow have not been identified previously. I...
متن کاملResponse properties of electrosensory units in the midbrain tectum of the paddlefish (Polyodon spathula Walbaum).
Paddlefish use their peculiar rostrum to detect minute electric fields from their main prey, small water fleas. Electroreceptors over the rostrum and head sense these fields and send the information into a single hindbrain area, the dorsal octavolateral nucleus (DON). From there, information is sent to various midbrain structures, including the tectum. The response properties of primary afferen...
متن کاملPolychlorinated biphenyls and chlordane in the gonads of paddlefish, Polyodon spathula, from the Ohio River.
The paddlefish (Polyodon spathula) is a primitive fish that is found in several large rivers of the Mississippi River drainage. The status of paddlefish populations in these large rivers is debatable due to several factors including habitat loss, contaminants and commercial fishing (Sparrowe 1986; Gundersen and Pearson 1992). The roe of female paddlefish is used to make domestic caviar and comm...
